Research Interests
Research in my lab uses a fruitfly (Drosophila melanogaster) model system to study questions related to developmental biology and cancer biology. We have two major project areas. First is understanding how tumors affect other organs in the body including the fat and muscle. The second is discovering and characterizing new genes required for eye and head development.
