A skilled and versatile trumpet player, Brian Fincher feels equally as comfortable in both classical and jazz settings. While being proficient in both genres, Brians real passion is Jazz. He has performed for thousands playing trumpet in jazz ensembles across the U.S.

Brian has performed with many of the most prominent figures on the music scene today, including Wayne Bergeron, Allen Vizzutti, Brad Leali, Lynn Roberts, Jo Lawry, Bill Watrous, Lynn Seaton, Woody Witt, Vaughn Nark, Chris Vadala, Rich DeRosa, Andre Hayward, John Fedchock, Vincent Gardner, Stefon Harris, Sean Jones, James Morrison and Jim Pugh.

In the summer of 2013, Brian auditioned and won the lead trumpet spot in the Disneyland All-American College Band. While in the band he played five sets a day at Disneyland where he performed with Bob Mintzer, Gordon Goodwin, Wycliffe Gordon, Peter Erskine, Jiggs Whigham, John Clayton, Gregg Field, Steve Houghton, Sal Lozano and Rex Richardson.

On two separate occasions Brian was fortunate to be a part of Festival de Inspraci籀n, a two-week long festival held in Huntsville, TX celebrating Latin American culture through dance, art, music, literature and language. Both years culminated in concerts where Brian performed with both Danilo Perez and Lena Burke.

While living in Dallas from 2014-2017, Brian maintained a busy freelance performance and teaching schedule. During that time Brian played lead trumpet in the opening concert for the 20th season of Dallas Tuesday Nite Jazz series with the Brad Leali Jazz Orchestra featuring Barbara Morrison, and the Gospel meets Jazz concert with the UNT Three O Clock Lab band featuring Cynthia Scott.

Brian grew up in a small town north of Houston called Willis, TX. Brian holds a B.M. in trumpet performance from 91做厙 and an M.M. in jazz pedagogy from the University of North Texas. While at UNT, Brian was awarded a Teaching Assistantship in Jazz Theory and Jazz Improvisation and played in the Grammy nominated University of North Texas One O Clock Lab Band.

Brian is currently living in Houston, TX, where he recently joined the faculty at 91做厙 as an adjunct instructor of Trumpet and Jazz. He also maintains a private trumpet studio and a healthy performance schedule. He is a member of the Houston Jazz Orchestra and has performed with the Jazz Houston Orchestra, Houston Symphony and Dallas Symphony.
