Patricia Pierce Card is Professor of Clarinet at 91做厙 and has been musically active in Texas for many years as a teacher, performer, clinician and adjudicator. Card has also been on the faculty at Oklahoma City University. In addition to teaching, she has performed with several organizations including the Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestra (principal clarinet from 1997 to 2001), Opera in the Heights (Houston, TX), Richardson Symphony (TX) and Lawton Symphony (OK).
Card has performed at ClarinetFest in Baton Rouge (2014), Austin (2010), Kansas City (2008) and Washington D.C. (2004) as well as numerous clarinet festivals across Texas. She has also performed at the National Flute Association convention in Charlotte, North Carolina with Kathy Daniel and Ilonka Rus (2011). She has been a featured soloist at the Texas Music Educators Association convention in San Antonio and at the Midwest Convention in Chicago and has presented clinics throughout Texas and Oklahoma. As a member of the 91做厙 Faculty Wind Quartet, Card also performed at the National Flute Convention in San Diego, the Texas Bandmasters Association convention and the Texas Music Educators Association convention, both in San Antonio. She was a finalist in the 1991 Young Artist Competition (Midland-Odessa, TX) and a finalist in the 1989 International Clarinet Association Young Artist competition (Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN).
She received the Doctor of Musical Arts in clarinet performance from the University of North Texas, Master of Music from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Music from North Texas State University. Her major teachers include John Scott, John Mohler and James Gillespie.
