Facilities

The Criminal Justice Center is one of the largest facilities in the field in higher education, with 190,000 square feet dedicated to academic programs and ongoing training and research for professionals. Opened in 1976, the Center was built by offenders from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Our facilities also include the Chemistry and Forensic Science Building, which houses the Department of Forensic Science, and the Southeast Texas Applied Forensic Science Facility, an off-site research center located in the Sam Houston National Forest.
