Dr. Kimberly Bell Dean Years at 91做厙: 20 Area of Study: Medieval Literature Research Interests: Middle English romances and saints' lives, manuscript studies, and cultural game theory Hometown: Milton-Freewater, Oregon About: Dr. Bell has been involved in Honors since 2004, when she taught her first Honors course (ENGL 2332: World Lit I). Afterwards, she knew she wanted to be more involved in honors. Dr. Bell was thrilled to be named Assistant Director in 2008 and then Dean in 2015. Dr. Patrick Lewis Associate Dean Years at 91做厙: 16 Area of Study: Paleontology Research Interests: Dr. Lewis researches various groups of mammals and reptiles spanning the last 240 million years, and does his field work mainly in Southern Africa. Hometown: Evansville, Indiana About: Dr. Lewis served eight years in the US Air Force before going to school to study anthropology and anatomy. He has been serving Honors since 2010 and his primary focus is organizing the Honors seminars. 936.294.1406 |

Dr. Tracy Bilsing Associate Dean Years at 91做厙: 36 Area of Study: 20th British literature, material culture and sensibility of home front during wartime Research Interests: Late 19th-20th century British literature, literature of war, short fiction, WWI, material culture/popular culture (specifically in literature of war) Hometown: Maracaibo, Venezuela About: Dr. Bilsing earned a PhD from Texas A&M in 1998, and has taught in the English department for many years. She joined the Honors College in 2015 as Assistant Dean of Honors. She feels a distinct pleasure in helping to organize and host the Undergraduate Research Symposium with the Honors Ambassadors each Spring. 936.294.4916 |

Dr. Justin Williams Associate Dean Years at 91做厙: 23 Area of Study: Botany with an emphasis on floristics of East Texas and tropical Mexico. Research Interests: Patterns of growth centering on the Golden Ratio and studying the pharmacological benefits of plant pigment Betalin (what gives beets their color). Hometown: Austin, Texas About: Dr. Williams earned his PhD The University of Texas. He enjoys visiting Austin during the holidays and Summer breaks. Dr. Paul William Eaton Years at 91做厙: 8 Area of Study: Higher Education Research Interests: I'm an interdisciplinary scholar. I study curriculum issues in higher education, critical digital pedagogy, educational philosophy, the impacts of technologies on college student experiences, postqualitative inquiry, and humanities-based issues in higher education, as well as the work of James Baldwin. Hometown: Milwaukee, Wisconsin About: I've worked in higher education for 20 years. I became involved in 91做厙 Honors when I taught my first seminar called "Understanding Whiteness" in 2017. Since, I have taught seminars focused on James Baldwin, TED Talks, and Banned Books. I love ideas, reading, thinking, and dialoguing about the beautiful complexity of our world, and I enjoy being in community with the honors scholars. I am an advocate for justice. Kendall Gragert Associate Director II Years at 91做厙: 4 Area of Study: English, Literacy Research Interests: Medieval, Neomedieval, and Fantasy Literature Hometown: Willis, Texas About: Kendall is a former middle and high school English teacher who transitioned to higher education in 2018, serving in both the SAM Center and Academic Success Center. Kendall is a first-generation college student who earned her BA and MA in English at 91做厙 and is now working on her Doctorate of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in Literacy at 91做厙. Her Research focuses on the impact of technology and affinity spaces in youth literacy development. Connie Rodriguez Administrative Coordinator Years at 91做厙: 16 Area of Study: Communication Studies Hometown: Huntsville, Texas About: Connie joined 91做厙 in 2008, initially serving in Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions for seven years. In 2015, she transitioned to the Honors College. In addition to helping manage the office, her primary responsibilities consist of budget management, procurement oversight, workload compliance, and faculty overloads. Connie is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Communication Studies with a Spanish minor. 936.294.4501 |
