 How to Apply to the Honors College

Eligible students will receive an invitation to apply after they are admitted to 91做厙! If they accept the Honors College Invitation, they will have the opportunity to submit all supporting documents via their 91做厙 Self Service Center portal. Students are encouraged to complete their applications early to take advantage of advanced registration privileges each fall and spring semester. Most late submissions will all be considered automatically for the following semester.

Students must be full-time 91做厙 students and enrolled in face-to-face courses.

Incoming Freshman

Eligible students will receive an invitation to apply! To finish applying for admission to the Honors College, incoming freshmen students must submit the following remaining documents via their 91做厙 self-service center:

  1. Two letters of recommendation from high school academic instructors with current knowledge of your academic performance and motivation. (You are more than welcome to send in additional letters from non-academic instructors but the above two are mandatory.)
  2. A 500-1000 word essay describing an incident, person, or book which has had an important influence on your life. VIEW SUGGESTED ESSAY FORMAT
  3. A résumé of your leadership experience, employment experience, awards/honors, and volunteer activities. VIEW SUGGESTED RESUME FORMAT
  4. A copy of your high school transcript listing your unweighted GPA.

Current 91做厙 or Transfer Students

Eligible students will receive an invitation to apply! To finish applying for admission to the Honors College, Current 91做厙 or Transfer students must submit the following remaining documents via their 91做厙 self-service center:

  1. Two letters of recommendation from college academic instructors (from the most recent college you attended) with current knowledge of your academic performance and motivation. (You are more than welcome to send in additional letters from non-academic instructors but the above two are mandatory.)
  2. A 500-1000 word essay describing an incident, person, or book which has had an important influence on your life. VIEW SUGGESTED ESSAY FORMAT
  3. A résumé of your leadership experience, employment experience, awards/honors, and volunteer activities. VIEW SUGGESTED RESUME FORMAT

Application Deadlines

March 1st Priority Deadline for Scholarships (applications must be complete)
July 1st Materials Deadline for all fall applications
November 1st Priority Deadline for Scholarships (applications must be complete)
December 1st Materials Deadline for all spring applications

Remaining application documents should be submitted online. Please submit the documents by email, mail, or by bringing it to the Honors College Office.

You will not receive an immediate confirmation email but will receive a confirmation once your application is processed by our office staff.
