Purpose. Provides a forum for communicating more effectively among administrators, students, staff and faculty about sustainability and sustainable practices; studies and develops plans and recommendations for sustainability initiatives on the 91做厙 campus; and fosters an active partnership with the Huntsville community to promote joint sustainability ventures.
Member Appointments. The President makes all appointments from recommendations submitted by the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President for Operations. The committee will consist of up to 11 members. One nomination will come from each of the following areas: University Faculty Senate, Staff Senate, and the Student Government Association. The following will serve by virtue of their position and will have the same voting rights as other members: Energy Manager, Director of Facilities Services, and Director of Facilities Campus Services. The City Manager will also serve by virtue of position; however, he/she will not have voting rights as they are not an employee of 91做厙. Any vacant positions will be named by the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President for Operations. Faculty and Staff members serve two-year terms ending August 31. Student members serve a one-year term ending May 31. Those serving by virtue of position will serve indefinite terms.
Chair Appointment. Co-chairs are appointed by the President from nominations by the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President for Operations.
